Abu Dhabi responded to multiple fires at the Borouge petrochemicals plant caused by falling debris from intercepted attacks, with operations suspended and no injuries reported.

Across the region, Iranian drone strikes affected Bahrain and Kuwait energy and government facilities, causing fires but no casualties. 

In parallel, U.S.-Iran hostilities continued, including the rescue of a U.S. service member after Iran downed an F-15E.

Iran’s nationwide internet shutdown, imposed more than a month ago, has become the longest of its kind on record, according to internet monitor NetBlocks.

“Iran's internet blackout is now the longest nation-scale internet shutdown on record in any country, exceeding all other comparable incidents in severity having entered its 37th consecutive day after 864 hours,” NetBlocks said in a tweet on Sunday.

The monitor noted that while some countries have experienced longer regional or intermittent shutdowns, no nation has previously faced a continuous, nationwide block of this duration. North Korea, by contrast, has never been connected to the global internet.

The blackout comes amid escalating tensions in the region, as Iran continues to face military pressure from the United States and Israel, and ongoing disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. Analysts say the shutdown has hampered communications, business operations, and access to information within Iran.

Iran struck Israel’s AeroSol drone factory in Petah Tikva, rendering it inoperable. Two individuals were executed in Iran for attacks on military sites, while over 100 prominent Iranians had assets frozen. Hezbollah launched missile attacks on Israeli positions in southern Lebanon following Israeli airstrikes. Israel warned civilians near the Masnaa Crossing on the Lebanon-Syria border to evacuate. Kuwait reported Iranian drone attacks damaging power, water, and oil facilities. Thirty Iranian universities have sustained attacks since February 28, with 65 casualties. Türkiye continues diplomatic efforts to mediate Iran-U.S. dialogue, but no concrete agreements have been reached. The conflict now involves multiple countries and impacts civilian and military infrastructure across the Middle East.

The Argentine Foreign Ministry declared Iran’s Chargé d’Affaires persona non grata, citing offensive statements and interference in domestic affairs. Officials cited Iran’s non-cooperation in the AMIA bombing investigation, repeated failures to comply with international arrest warrants, and appointments to senior IRGC positions of individuals sought by Argentine authorities. The 1994 AMIA attack killed 85 and injured more than 300. Despite decades of investigations, no convictions have been made. Argentina reaffirmed its commitment to justice, memory, and international law, and the diplomat must exit Argentina within 48 hours. President Javier Milei commemorated the 30th anniversary of the attack and signed legislation marking July 18 as a national day of remembrance.

The United States destroyed an aircraft left behind during a rescue mission in Iran after it became stuck and could not be recovered, according to Fox News. The aircraft was eliminated to prevent it from falling into enemy hands. The mission successfully extracted a downed U.S. weapons systems officer whose F-15E jet had been shot down. The airman survived nearly 48 hours behind enemy lines before being located with CIA support. Hundreds of U.S. personnel and dozens of aircraft were involved in the operation, with additional intelligence support reportedly provided by Israel. All U.S. personnel were safely evacuated, and no casualties were reported.

U.S. President Donald Trump said Sunday that American forces rescued a second airman in Iran, following an earlier undisclosed recovery. The announcement came as Iran launched missiles and drones targeting Israel, Kuwait, and Gulf states, prompting air defense responses. Strikes have intensified across the region, with attacks on industrial and energy infrastructure reported in Iran and neighboring countries. A strike near the Bushehr nuclear plant raised safety concerns, though no radiation increase was detected, according to the IAEA. Iran rejected a U.S. ultimatum tied to the Strait of Hormuz, while regional tensions continue to escalate amid ongoing military operations involving multiple actors.

 Since the first salvoes of a war that has drawn in multiple regional actors, Israeli hospitals have received thousands of the wounded — and the full human cost of the conflict remains deliberately obscured.

On Sunday, the Israeli Health Ministry released its latest casualty update, revealing that 6,771 wounded had been admitted to hospitals since the war against Iran began on Feb. 28. Of those, 134 remain hospitalized: 2 are in critical condition on the brink of death, 15 have sustained serious wounds, 25 are in moderate condition, and 89 have sustained light injuries.

The ministry has not released official figures for the number of killed. However, the Israeli National Security Research Institute estimates that 29 people have lost their lives since the start of the conflict.

The Maysan Oil Company has announced that its storage facilities at the "Bozorgan" oil field were subjected to a drone attack.

On Sunday, the Maysan Oil Company released a statement through the Media and Government Communications Office of the Oil Ministry, confirming that the attack resulted in no casualties or injuries among the company's workers and employees.

The Maysan Oil Company called on all its employees to exercise utmost caution in light of the current challenges and circumstances in the region, and to fully comply with all occupational safety guidelines to protect their lives and national infrastructure.

Iran raised the alarm on Saturday, over what it described as an unprecedented and dangerous threat to civilian populations across the region. In a formal letter addressed to the United Nations, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that strikes targeting areas in the vicinity of Iran's nuclear facilities carry a grave and unprecedented risk for Iranian civilians and the broader region, and constitute a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions and the safeguards system of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Araghchi warned of the environmental consequences of such strikes, stating that the attacks risk causing radiation leaks and the contamination of Gulf waters, the air, ecosystems, and natural resources.
