Situation in Syria worsened since Israeli strike on Damascus, says SOHR director

"It is anticipated that the Damascus attack will result in a terrible reaction. A drone attempted to attack the Tanf base after the attack, but was shot down," the SOHR Director stated.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) Director Rami Abdurrahman, on Tuesday told Kurdistan24 that the situation in Syria has worsened since the Israeli strike on Damascus.

"It is anticipated that the Damascus attack will result in a terrible reaction. A drone attempted to attack the Tanf base after the attack, but was shot down," the SOHR Director stated.

Abdurrahman explained that, since the Iranians know very well that their missiles will be able to target the Israeli Defense Ministry, not an area where Mossad would not be present, as well as attack Israeli power plants, their response must be "similar to the level of the attack."

“Because of last night's attack, Iran wants to expand the war through Hezbollah at the expense of the Lebanese people. I don't know why the people of Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq have to pay the price for the conflict between Iran and Israel,” he noted.

"Iran is now forced to respond because many of those in Syria are attacking Iran and saying that Syria has been attacked in your name," he then added.

Israeli air forces struck Iranian positions in Syria once more on Monday night. According to official Iranian media, the attack on the Iranian embassy in Damascus claimed the lives of eight people.
