ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Kurdish film "Skalla," written and directed by Kay Bahar, has been selected to participate in the Violet International Film Festival in Bogotá, Colombia.

This follows its successful screenings at 15 international festivals across the United States, Africa, Germany, Geneva, Spain, and most recently, the annual Swiss Film Festival.

Director Kay Bahar shared with Kurdistan 24 the significance of the film, stating, "The cast of the Kurdish film tells the story of a romantic relationship between two lovers who are married to someone else due to an old social tradition. It aims to highlight and reduce these cases, which were very common in Kurdish society in the past, especially in rural areas."

"Skalla" continues to gain international recognition for its poignant portrayal of love and societal challenges, bringing Kurdish cinema to global audiences.
