ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - Flight operations at Erbil International Airport resumed Friday morning at 9:00 AM local time following temporary suspensions due to severe weather conditions, the head of Kurdistan Region's Tourism Airlines Union confirmed.
Lawand Mamundi, President of the Tourism Airlines Union in Kurdistan Region, told Kurdistan 24 on Friday, Nov. 29, 2024, "Several flights from multiple countries to Erbil International Airport were delayed due to fog and weather changes. However, operations resumed this morning at 9:00 AM, and air navigation has returned to normal."
Mamundi added to Kurdistan 24, "All flights between Erbil and Istanbul, Erbil and Sharjah, Erbil and Amman, and Erbil and Doha were postponed due to fog and weather changes."
The airport had suspended air traffic on Thursday evening due to heavy fog and weather conditions, leading to the postponement of all incoming flights from several countries.
