FM Fuad Hussein "Iraq does not want a second Libya in the region"
The Iraqi Foreign Minister highlighted the significant action of creating a secure and stable circumstance, so the Syrian refugees can return to their homeland, as well as strengthening the infrastructure of Syria country and its settings to assist the country's political future.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The Arab Contact Group host a meeting, on Saturday, December 14th, 2024, in Aqaba in Jordan, where all the Arab foreign ministers from across the large Arab nation land, as well as the UK, UN, US, European countries and Turkey representatives attended.
Iraqi representative, the Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein attended that joint meeting in Aqaba, "it has been a critical step towards the latest developments in Syria and surrounding countries who have suffered the most due the situation in Syria," Hussein stated in a joint press conference with his counterpart's foreign ministers and representatives.
"Iraq does not want a second Libya in the region," He said, and stressed the importance of working to achieve stability in Syria.
According to his statement, the conference included a number of principles related to the political process in Syria, the most prominent one was to find a way to build democracy by making dialogues, creating an inclusive political system that represents all the communities in Syria, meet women's and human rights.
He further added "the transitional stage to be for Syrian's citizens themselves, also with the regional and international support to protect people's rights by building a clear political process, it should also avoid violating the rights of the minorities, communities and religious sectors"

The participants discussed all possible ways to support an inclusive political governance, Syria's leadership to successfully process the transitional stage in accordance with the Security Council resolutions, in reconstructing the country's establishments, preserving the unity and integrity, sovereignty, security and stability of Syria.
According to a statement from the Jordanian foreign ministry, solutions and support for the political process in Syria have been discussed and put in a joint action plan.
