AK Party awaits PKK response to Ocalan’s message on PKK disarmament
Ala emphasized that if the PKK responds positively, it could mark a significant step toward peace. However, he also reaffirmed Turkey’s preparedness should the group choose not to comply.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Efkan Ala, Deputy Chairman of the Justice and Development Party (aka AK Party), announced on Thursday that the government is awaiting PKK response to a message from Abdullah Ocalan regarding the disarmament of the PKK.
Ala emphasized that if the PKK responds positively, it could mark a significant step toward peace. However, he also reaffirmed Turkey’s preparedness should the group choose not to comply.
“We are waiting for the results of Abdullah Ocalan's message, and the AKP has been very effective in combating terrorism in Turkey,” Ala stated. He reiterated that the government remains committed to eliminating security threats and ensuring stability in the country.
Ocalan called for the disarmament of the PKK in a message delivered by Ahmet Türk on Thursday.
