Germany Withdraws Forces from Middle East Amid Escalating Conflict
A German military spokesperson told Reuters on Friday that Germany has withdrawn additional forces from the Middle East.
The spokesperson indicated that soldiers deployed as part of the UNIFIL mission in Lebanon are being pulled back. This follows the German army's previous significant reduction of its presence in the Kurdistan Region.
The RND news network reported that German forces stationed in Bahrain have returned to Germany, and preparations for withdrawal from Kuwait have also begun.
The RND report also stated that German soldiers and embassy personnel in Baghdad are being relocated to Jordan.
Currently, approximately 500 German soldiers are deployed in the region, most of whom are stationed in Iraq and Jordan.
