Akre SC, fresh from clinching the Kurdistan Premier League title, secured their spot in the final for the first time by defeating Zakho SC 3-2 in a tense semi-final encounter.
On the other side, Handren SC advanced to the final after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Said Sadiq SC in the semi-finals of the Kurdistan Regional Cup.
Akre SC's journey to the final included a victory over Sherwana SC in the 16th round, propelling them to the eighth round, defeating Erbil SC on its way. Meanwhile, Handren SC displayed their prowess by triumphing over Shaqlawa SC, Peshmerga Erbil SC, Ranya SC, and Said Sadiq SC.
Isaac Mensah of Akre SC leads the scoring charts in the Kurdistan Regional Cup with four goals, closely followed by Younis Abd of Zakho SC with three goals, adding an extra layer of excitement to the anticipated final showdown.
