Kurdistan Region President to meet Turkish President Erdogan in Ankara

The spokesperson for the Presidency, Dilshad Shahab, confirmed that the meeting will focus on strengthening relations between Turkey, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani is set to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara on Wednesday, as part of an official visit, according to a statement from the Kurdistan Region Presidency.

The spokesperson for the Presidency, Dilshad Shahab, confirmed that the meeting will focus on strengthening relations between Turkey, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region. In addition to bilateral ties, the leaders will also discuss recent regional developments and explore other issues of mutual interest. 

This visit underscores the ongoing cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey amid evolving political and economic dynamics in the region. Further details of the discussions are expected following the meeting. 

On April 22, Erdogan visited the Kurdistan Region and met with top Kurdish officials including the Kurdistan Region President and Prime Minister.
