ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Kurdistan Region's Council of Ministers held its regular meeting on Wednesday, chaired by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, with Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani in attendance, to discuss and review a number of key administrative and financial matters.

According to a statement from the KRG's Department of Media and Information, the cabinet assessed three main agenda items.

The first item involved a complete financial report for 2024, presented in light of the latest explanations from the Ministry of Finance and Economy.

The report detailed monthly review balances and the Region's allocated share from the federal budget.

The second agenda item concentrated on the application of the Unique Personal Number (UPN) system and the results of the biometric registration process for KRG employees, as offered by the Ministry of Planning.

This initiative is part of the government's continued attempts to modernize its administrative systems and ensure transparency in public sector employment.

In the third item, the cabinet reviewed progress on the centralized electronic payroll system project, following up on previous cabinet decisions.

This digitalization project aims to modernize the salary distribution process for public sector employees across the Kurdistan Region.

The Kurdistan Regional Government has been implementing several reform initiatives since 2019 to digitize its administrative systems and improve transparency in public sector management.

The introduction of the biometric registration system and the UPN project are key elements of these reforms, intended to prevent duplicate registrations and ensure efficient resource allocation in the public sector payroll system.
