Greek composer Yanni has voiced his support for Syrians and Kurdish people by playing his music "Almost a Whisper" in solidarity.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) - Greek composer Yanni has voiced his support for Syrians and Kurdish people by playing his music "Almost a Whisper" in solidarity.

"Yanni-Almost a Whisper (Seléna’s Theme)-Primary Form-4K Never Released Before. This is for all my Syrian and Kurdish friends!... May peace come to all of you very soon! I have seen and felt your strength and I believe it is inevitable!" Yanni posted on his official Facebook page on Thursday along with a video of himself playing the music.

Yiannis Chryssomallis born on November 14, 1954, known professionally as Yanni, is a Greek composer, keyboardist, pianist, and music producer, who has spent his adult life in the United States.

The music he plays in the video was released first in his album "Reflections of Passion" in 1990.

Syria has been suffering from a civil war since March 2011. Seven years since, the violence and conflict continue to grip the country, killing about 400,000 people and displacing over five million more.
Kurds, as one of the ethnic components in Syria, have been a victim of the war with hundreds of thousands of them fleeing to neighboring countries and Europe.
