U.S. President Donald Trump shared footage on Tuesday of an airstrike targeting ammunition arsenals in Isfahan, Iran. The Wall Street Journal reported the use of 2,000-pound "bunker-buster" bombs in the operation. Simultaneously, regional conflict intensified as the Israeli military reported four soldiers killed in southern Lebanon and its air defenses intercepted Iranian missiles over Jerusalem. Explosions and power cuts were reported in Tehran, where the IDF claimed a strike on an IRGC-run university.

In Iraq, PMF bases in Babil and Anbar were hit by airstrikes. Maritime tensions rose following an attack on a Kuwaiti tanker in Dubai and Iran's approval of a toll plan for the Strait of Hormuz. NATO also intercepted a missile fired toward Türkiye. Amid the violence, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested internal fractures in Tehran could lead to a diplomatic breakthrough, while G7 ministers pledged to stabilize energy markets.

Pentagon Calls FT Report on Hegseth “Fabricated”

The Pentagon on Tuesday issued a firm denial of a Financial Times report alleging that a broker for U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth attempted to invest millions in a defense-focused fund shortly before the attack on Iran. Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell called the claims "entirely false and fabricated," stating that no such approach was made to the asset manager BlackRock.

The FT report suggested a Morgan Stanley wealth manager sought shares in the IDEF ETF, which holds major defense firms like Lockheed Martin and RTX. Though the report claimed the trade did not occur due to platform restrictions, it sparked a sharp response from the Department of War, which has demanded a retraction. Hegseth, a key advocate for the military campaign, previously reported millions in earnings from media and books before his appointment. The IDEF fund has notably fallen 13 percent in the past month.

The Israeli military said four soldiers were killed during combat operations in southern Lebanon, with one additional soldier severely wounded and a reservist moderately injured. The casualties occurred amid ongoing clashes with Hezbollah. The announcement follows earlier reports of Israeli troop losses and coincides with intensified airstrikes in Beirut’s southern suburbs and southern Lebanon. A Lebanese soldier was also killed in a separate Israeli strike, while UN peacekeepers were wounded in border incidents. The escalation began after Hezbollah launched rocket attacks in early March, prompting Israeli ground and air operations. Fighting continues as Israel seeks to establish a security buffer zone in southern Lebanon.

Iran has moved a step closer to asserting greater control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz, with state media reporting Monday that a parliamentary commission has approved a plan to impose tolls on vessels transiting the vital waterway.

According to Iranian state television, citing a member of parliament’s security commission, the proposal includes “financial arrangements and rial toll systems” aimed at reinforcing what Tehran describes as its sovereign role in the Strait.

The plan also envisions coordination with Oman, which shares control of the narrow passage connecting the Persian Gulf to global shipping routes.

The Republic of Türkiye Ministry of National Defense announced on Monday that a ballistic munition launched from Iran was successfully neutralized by NATO air and missile defense forces deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean.

In an official statement titled “Statement on the Neutralization of Ballistic Munition,” the ministry said the projectile was detected and intercepted after being launched from Iran, preventing it from reaching its intended target.

The ministry did not provide further operational details but emphasized that the interception reflects the readiness and effectiveness of Türkiye’s air defense systems in countering aerial threats amid heightened regional tensions.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, also serving as acting U.S. national security adviser, signaled cautious optimism on Monday regarding ongoing talks with Iran, suggesting that Iranian officials are privately signaling a willingness to engage, despite their public defiance.

“You have people over there that are saying some of the right things privately,” Rubio told ABC’s Good Morning America. “Obviously, they’re not going to put it out in press releases, and what they say to you or put out there for the world doesn’t necessarily reflect what they’re saying in our conversations.”
